Eleanor Johnson, CPA, CLU®, CGMA®, is a nationally known and highly respected member of the insurance industry who recently returned to Highland Capital Brokerage as Founding Principal. Eleanor’s focus is on helping selected financial advisors, independent agents, and their clients identify and implement appropriate insurance strategies. Known for her leadership skills and technical expertise, Eleanor is also highly appreciated for her ability to work with clients and their advisory teams to make complex planning concepts understandable. Clients who work with Eleanor and her team are empowered to pinpoint and articulate their planning priorities, which reduces implementation time and results in the heightened satisfaction of clients, advisors, and centers of influence.
During her extensive insurance career, Eleanor has served as a point-of-sale insurance professional, insurance company executive, founding partner, board member, as well as a major shareholder of Highland Capital Brokerage, where she worked for 25 years. Before returning to Highland, Eleanor managed institutional account distribution at John Hancock, working across all channels as a keynote speaker to provide engaging, actionable ideas for any practice.
Eleanor serves on the Board of Directors of Forum 400, an elite group limited to the top 400 U.S. life insurance professionals. This exclusive community brings together high-performing life producers, creating a collaborative culture to openly share practical strategies and fresh ideas that positively impact client outcomes. Eleanor is also a former Association for Advanced Life Underwriting (AALU) board member (now known as Finesca), and founder of the AALU brokerage task force.
In her spare time, Eleanor enjoys skiing, hiking, golf, travel and appreciating a great glass of wine with friends. She splits her time between her homes in the Seattle area and in Scottsdale, Arizona, where her daughter, son-in-law, and grandsons live.
