About

David R. Bernaus serves as Divisional Senior Vice President, Signature Life for Highland Capital Brokerage.

Prior to joining Highland, Bernaus worked with Nationwide Financial Services, where he collaborated with brokerage general agencies and producers to grow their life insurance business through creative product and sales concept strategies for their clients.

Beginning his career in the life insurance industry in 1988, Bernaus has gained extensive experience with several leading life insurance carriers, both in the home office and the field. His experience also includes distribution management, brokerage agency management, international brokerage expansion, and building a producer group.

Bernaus holds the Chartered Life Underwriter® and Chartered Financial Consultant® designations. Additionally, he holds licenses for Series 7 (General Securities Representative), 24 (General Securities Principal), and 63 (Uniform Securities Agent State Law Examination), and is a business graduate of Queen’s University in Kingston, Canada.
